EcoWatch Kenya: championing environmental justice

Blessed  Citron’s non-profit EcoWatch Kenya offers important news, research and opportunities for  people to participate on urgent ecological topics to promote sustainability. The blog is a lively platform for environmental journalism and advocacy in Kenya.

Key highlights are:

EcoWatch Kenya fosters environmental stewardship, empowers citizens and works with  communities by supporting local groups to reduce urban pollution.

EcoWatch  Kenya encourages people to join forces, reduce using plastic, improve waste control and  question businesses that harm the environment or focus on greenwashing. Greenwashing refers to companies' fake statistics or claims about being ‘green.’ It reveals that there are companies involved in clean-ups but still  responsible for a lot of plastic waste which covers up their true harm to nature

EcoWatch Kenya raises concerns about conservation by covering cases where offsetting carbon  emissions hurts indigenous pastoralists by taking their land. It supports the practice of including  and respecting knowledge and rights of native peoples when conserving the environment.

EcoWatch Kenya supports active citizenship by letting people help, offer support and learn  through its website and accounts on social media. We believe, people can help  build a greater and fairer future for Kenya and for the wider world.

EcoWatch Kenya, with its different activities, encourages more people to protect the  environment. The platform takes action by highlighting environmental wrongs, urging strong  policies and involving communities which helps direct Kenya towards an environmentally fairer  and cleaner future.

Blessed Citron is a non-profit group headquartered in Nairobi, working on lowering inequality  and helping communities improve by concentrating on matters such as poverty, upholding  human rights, sports and education. Through EcoWatch Kenya, we support measures that help  the environment and link these to social justice. Reach out for partnerships and discussions on such topics.
